Since everyone else seems to be making predictions, I decided why not display what I think will happen. First off I want to start by saying I have not really read any of the other predictions put out by others because I feel most of them are written by people who don't know what the heck they are talking about. They just pop an Aderoll and run off at the mouth. Me, I will attempt to display my predictions based off of analysis of what is going on currently. Please do not take any of my predictions to heart and do not hold any of them against me.

As I have stated before, Research In Motion has seen a tough start in the consumer market. While dominating in business market solutions, RIM's first attempt at a consumer touch screen somewhat failed in the eyes of the general public because of how much it was rushed. I am talking about the BlackBerry Storm 1. I owned the device and it wasn't as horrible as some pansies made it out to be. The phone was however an unfinished version of the Storm 2. The Storm 2 is an amazing upgrade from the Storm 1 because of its solidity. However it wasn't just hardware that weighed the BlackBerry Storm 1 down. It was also the software. It was running on 4.7 software which was lacking. Now with 5.0 new opportunities of growth within the BlackBerry App World and 5.0 software platform have sprouted. However because these things like widgets and 3D games take some time to create, we have to wait on the developers to actually discover the potential.

Google and its Android platform have shocked many manufacturers with its innovative software and large selection of Android applications. The Android market share is growing at a rapid pace, claiming its place as one of the top Smartphone platforms available.

With all of that being said, below is a list of my predictions for 2010.

-Three to Four new BlackBerry devices will be announced, but they will not be smart phones.
-Sometime at the end of January and beginning of February, a stream of new BlackBerry widgets and 3D applications will start to be released.
-The BlackBerry App World will get new recognition
-The Android app world will continue to grow, but face many developers leaving them to develop for BlackBerry.
-A new android phone will release that introduces a brand new screen technology that changes the game.
-Apple will be in danger of losing cell phone market share due to Android phones, however the iPhones presence on a carrier it has never been on will help maintain that share.
-A new iPhone will be released, however THE android phone of the year will give it a run for its money.
-A new browser will finally be released on the BlackBerry platform, along with two more browsers.
-Talks of wirelessly charged cell phones will grow stronger.
-A new type of screen will be developed, and either be released by Android or BlackBerry
-Research In Motion will release a phone that becomes the talk among consumers. It will also get a lot of press coverage.
-We will see that the Nexus One is not THE Google phone, and that a different Google phone will emerge.
- Tablet PC’s will definitely be all over the place
-Windows will show talks of a new cell phone, this one could possibly be better than any other WinMo phone made. It will show off new software. The Windows Phone 7 series.
-New software will be introduced on the BlackBerry platform that shows off a new User Interface.
-Google will release new search software that advances upon Google Goggles. The release of Google Gesture
-Camera technology and specs will become a big thing this year. A lot of new camera technology and camera competition.
-Google will introduce a new phone feature that will be new to any type of phone ever made.
-Apple will release a new design for an iPhone.
-Research in Motion will finally get the official respect for their platform, and gain even more market share.
-Apple remains not as innovative as RIM and Google as far as Mobile technology until 2011.

That’s it for now. If I left anything out I will definitely update! Let me know what you think of them!

Blue- Have come true already

i dont know you really think RIM will have WOW factor... there OS is what needs help and relying on rims services is questionable at times how many outages do we need..tablets are cool but i dont get it..i see 4.3 inch screens and 512 mb memory this year. the nexus is a failure it should have been a 4.3 in screen....and all those phones from htc are cookie cutter style phones hd2 is cool.. Motorola has a 4.3 screen and there phones are not cookie cutter yet..

Lol yes, I really think RIM will impress this year but only time will tell. I agree with you on HTC phones, very cookie cutter and stereo typical indeed. The thing I liked about the Moto Droid was that even though it resembled a phone version of their rough walkie talkies, it was still.....different. They arent quite as innovative as RIM is with hardware, but it definately isn't the typical phone style. HTC is too bubbly looking for my taste, but we shall see! They might surprise us.

To add to that, I think many technological break throughs will occur this year. More significant ones compared to any of this past year.

I agree with you here Card, we are going to see some very interesting things happen this year. We will see quite a few things in the next few days at C.E.S. that should be cool.

Me too. I thought RIMs developer conference was really awesome. You know, you could probably get a press pass to attend these events live. I am so jealous right now.

Thanks alot we really appreciate that! Lol all the work we do is to make sure our users are comfortable and getting the news they need to know too! As well as developing a place that can be really fun. just be ware thers sites that try and be like ours like droidberry.com and berryandroid.com, but I guarantee the owners of this site are 100% more real.

Well, I had been thinking about a website for somtime, and we had originally started a site with a guy named Dr. Sadistic called Berrycentral but he didn't tell anyone about it because it was under works however that didn't work out too well, but then with the growing interest in the Android platform, and my craving to be different rather than offer just another BB website, We all decided on DroidBerry. We just got tired of being banned from CB and having so many restrictions. It wasnt really to compete against anyone, but I couldnt stand some of the forum moderators at CB btchin at me for every little thing I do when I contributed most of my time there helping people and providing analyzations but it went under apprecaited, the micro managing was lame, and not to mention every damn thread I made was flamed to death. TOo many of my threads were deleted. I didn't let myself get butt hurt over it, but I'm not the kind of person to let people run how I do what I do. If I make a decision to do something and an authority figure disagrees and tries to prevent me from doing it, then there are unlikely results with me, so now we can shape DB into the principals in which I thought should have been in CB. And with that the site should develope into something that exerts the essence of those principals.

I definitely agree with crackberry being over-moderated, I'm kind of glad my petition to get you back on crackberry fell through because I find it funner to post here anyway.
